On Friday, we attended the Plymouth County Farm Bureau Legislative meeting. We heard from agriculturalists on their views about proposed bills, legislators, and our own Mr. Costa, BA alumna Hope Healy, and Plymouth County Extension Educator, Meg Riley, about how the future of our students is shaped by the new proposals. Students in Mrs. Almeida's Honors Precalculus class went around campus to measure angles of elevation and depression using their knowledge of trigonometric ratios. They assembled their own inclinometers to do this! #BAPride #CultivatingExcellence #Math
This Saturday Taylor Nascimento Allie Edwards and Mary Alice Sperry competed at their region 6 IEA finals. Taylor qualified in Varsity intermediate flat, Allie qualified in Varsity open flat and was the high point open rider, Mary Alice qualified in JV novice over fences. The Seniors in Veterinary Science and Laboratory Animal Technology had an exciting day disbudding calves! They went through the step by step process giving them a cdt vaccine to prevent tetanus, clipping the hair, and disbudding the horns. Fun fact: a common misconception about cattle is that only males grow horns, but females grow horns as well!
