We recently had the pleasure of hosting Michael Paduch, President of the Massachusetts Flower Association and Owner of Crystal Lake Greenhouses in the Floriculture Department. Michael generously donated flats of pansies along with a variety of annual plants to support our students hands-on learning. He also spent time with the Floriculture sophomore class, sharing his expertise in greenhouse planting and encouraging students to start growing right in their backyards. He gave helpful recommendations to our own production, and students were proud to show them the work they had started for our spring expo sale. Thank you so much Michael for your contributions to our Floriculture program!🌱🌷 #BAPride #CultivatingExcellence

Community partnerships in action! 🥎🔨 Bristol Aggie recently teamed up with Bristol Plymouth carpentry students and the Dighton Parks & Recreation Department to begin repairs and upgrades to the Dighton softball field that our team uses during the season. Together, students and community members worked on improving the field’s backstop and dugout, helping ensure a safe and welcoming space for athletes and fans alike. This project is a great example of what can happen when schools and communities collaborate — giving students hands-on experience while supporting local facilities. Stay tuned for more updates as the work continues! #CommunityPartnerships #HandsOnLearning #BristolAggie

This past weekend, Bristol Aggie hosted the Massachusetts 4-H Horse Round Up, Hippology, and Horse Bowl competition! The Bristol County team had six students from Bristol Aggie participating: freshmen Maggie Wittkamper and Maddie Crosby; sophomores Lily Zink and Anna Zink; junior Sophia Salisbury; and senior Taylor Mayer. The competition was at the state level, with 4-Hers from all over Massachusetts. Taylor Mayer placed 🥇 in Hippology, Anna Zink placed 🥇 in Horse Bowl, and Lily Zink placed 🥈 in Horse Bowl! They will be heading to Nationals this fall in Kentucky. Sophia Salisbury placed 9th in Hippology, and Team Bristol placed 2nd overall. Congratulations to this very knowledgeable horse team! 🎉🍀 #BAPride #CultivatingExcellence

Planting the seeds for the future 🌱 Today, we had the opportunity to bring together local agricultural professionals and community leaders for a visioning session focused on the future of Bristol Aggie as a central hub for agriculture in Southeastern Massachusetts. Together, we explored exciting possibilities — including a reimagining of Keith Hall as a dynamic space that could serve multiple roles: collaborative office space, a marketplace for local ag products, and a place where innovation and community come together. This was just the first step, but the energy, ideas, and shared commitment in the room made it clear that something special is growing. Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support the vision of the Ag Institute. The future is bright 🌾 #CultivatingExcellence #BAPride #AgEducation #CommunityPartnerships #SupportLocalAg #SustainableFuture #AgInstitute

Yesterday, the Bristol Aggie Environmental Conservation Department was proud to welcome Peter DeFusco and the National Grid Environmental Licensing & Permitting Team to campus. During their visit, the team toured our Natural History Museum and labs, where they observed students actively engaged in our ongoing collaborative projects and gained a deeper understanding of our programs. The visit highlighted the strength of our continued partnership between our department, National Grid, and Oxbow Associates, Inc., including our work raising threatened Eastern box turtle hatchlings at a National Grid site in Fall River, MA. In addition to supporting conservation efforts, Peter has been an incredible resource for our students—participating in school-wide career events and our department’s Conservation Professional Speaker Series. Through these opportunities, he shares insights into his career path, the rewards and challenges of his work, and valuable advice for students interested in pursuing careers in environmental conservation. We are incredibly grateful to Peter and the entire National Grid team for visiting today and for their continued partnership. These collaborations make it possible for our students to engage in meaningful, real-world conservation work and have a tangible impact early in their careers. We look forward to many more opportunities ahead! @BristolAggieECD @nationalgrid @oxbowassociatesinc #BristolAggieECD #BristolAggie #EnvironmentalConservation #NaturalResourceManagement #EnvironmentalEngineering #NaturalHistoryMusuem #Headstarting #RareSpecies #Turtles #HandsOnLearning #MarineBiology #WildlifeBiology #Zoology #BAPride #CultivatingExcellence

Throughout this school year Flori students have been participating in the state’s Harvest of the Month program. Each month we highlight an in season fruit or vegetable through a cooking and nutrition inspired lesson. February was all about winter squash! After vacation and storm delays, we had the chance to do our Harvest of the Month Lesson this past week. Thanks to the generous donation of butternut squash from Heart Beets Farm, we made Winter Squash Energy Bites. #BAPride #CultivatingExcellence #LocalHarvest

Today, we had the opportunity to attend the Massachusetts Farm and Sea to School Conference. After engaging in workshops and learning from inspiring speakers, our students and staff are energized and ready to bring new ideas back to campus. Several students from our Floriculture program, alongside Ms. Flory, are helping to lead our Farm to School efforts—work made possible in part through two Massachusetts Farm to School grants. These resources have allowed us to expand hands-on learning by connecting our greenhouses, raised growing beds, and school food service program, while continuing to strengthen a meaningful Farm to School education experience for our students. We’re also proud of our Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources Youth Council students, who represented Bristol Aggie through their leadership, engagement, and ongoing support of agricultural education. Experiences like today reinforce the importance of connecting what we grow to what we serve—strengthening the relationship between our campus, our students, and our community. The future is bright for our farm to school connection. 🥬🍽️ @massfarmtoschool @massgrown #BAPride #FarmToSchool

Students in the Environmental Conservation Department (ECD) work together daily on a variety of wildlife projects. These projects require students to observe and monitor each individual to ensure they are accounted for, healthy, growing properly, and receiving the correct diet and supplement amounts. Students will soon release some of these animals back into the wild later this spring, while others are part of the Natural History Museum collection on campus, helping students and visitors learn more about local wildlife and conservation efforts. @BristolAggieECD #BristolAggieECD #BristolAggie #EnvironmentalConservation #EnvironmentalEngineering #NaturalResourceManagement #NaturalHistoryMusuem #HandsOnLearning #MarineBiology #WildlifeBiology #Zoology
